Χτίζοντας μια νέα ζωή μακριά από την πατρίδα: Το παράδειγμα της Κύπριας Νατάσα Λοΐζου στην Αργεντινή
I had the pleasure to be the guest speaker at the first 2024 networking reunion of aipfecyprus, surrounded by wonderful, experienced and empowering women with diverse life and career trajectories. I spoke on the topic of ‘A migrant woman’s journey as a pillar to life and professional development’ conceptualizing on my personal and working experience and knowledge acquired during the last 20 years. As a Cypriot who migrated to Argentina in 2006, I shared my migrant journey, describing how I constructed a new life, and then deconstruct her mentality in an effort to integrate into a new culture.
‘Constructing my identity persistently is my “Ithaka”, I explained. ‘By analyzing my family trajectory, enhancing my essence, ethics and values, and elaborating on who I wish to be, I reconstruct my identity as a pillar in life. I challenge myself to face adversities, give space to my feelings, open up to the unknown and develop new capacities. I enthusiastically take the lead on my life, and motivate others to take up the challenge. And, that is my way to lead, based on identity.’
I thank the Board of Directors of AIPFE for the invitation and organization of the event.
My best wishes for a great and empowering 2024!
