The study carries out an analysis of the historical trajectory of the creation of the national control system for weapons, ammunition, explosives, strategic materials and sensitive materials in Argentina from the 1940s to 2015. Identify the causal mechanisms that have generated Argentina’s insertion into the regimes international controls on transfers of arms and other sensitive materials.Likewise, the link between the State model and the process of

development of foreign and national defense policies, with respect to the model of defensive defense and military and civil disarmament, since the recovery of democracy in the 1980s. Finally, an assessment is made regarding the influence of arms control, defensive defense and disarmament policies, scientific and technological development for defense in a semiperipheral country such as Argentina.
